We can be a bit geeky about wind energy here at WindEnergy.ie.

So we spent some time on the really great EirGrid Smart Grid dashboard which has been developed by EirGrid to show in real-time how Ireland’s electricity generation is working.

In one section you can view Ireland’s Carbon Dioxide emissions from our electricity generation, and when you compare Ireland’s electricity emissions with when wind energy is generating most, its clear that more Irish wind energy = lower Irish emissions from electricity. Fact!

The orange line is the carbon dioxide emissions from our electricity generation while the green line is our wind energy generation for the same time.
